Why should I Renew my Mind?
The way we think can transform the way we live.
The National Science Foundation says that 80% of the thoughts that we think about on a given day are negative. It’s imperative to learn how to tune into the right flow of thoughts. Our minds can retrieve a plethora of information within seconds. This process seems instantaneous and automatic, but our thoughts become influenced by our past experiences, environment, family/friends and morals.
Have you ever been researching to buy a Ford Mustang? You decide to test drive the different models and read up on articles found on Google regarding the model that you are looking to buy. Later, you realize that you see Ford Mustang’s everywhere while driving. What has happened?
You have trained your mind to attend to information regarding the Ford Mustang. It occurs when we are engaged in repeating the same thoughts over and over again. It is a form of meditation, and when this happens, our brains create new neural pathways that enable us to think these thoughts easier and easier. How you begin knowing that you have trained your mind is being able to think the right flow of these thoughts faster and faster.
Stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around you but be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit through a total reformation of how you think. This will empower you to discern God’s will as you live a beautiful life, satisfying and perfect in his eyes.
Romans 12:2 (TPT).
When we became saved, our spirit became alive, but it does not mean our minds were sanctified to think like Christ. It is imperative to begin training your mind on how to think. To renew means to change the way that you think. The cross enables us to have the mind of Christ. As believers, we are called to dwell upon whatever is right, pure, lovely, noble and of an excellent report. If we want to live wildly, then we must think wildly, we must break out of the status quo and dream with our heavenly Father.
